Copying multi value to sync rule in a workflow
Hi. I found out that it is not possible to copy multiple values to a multi value field in a sync rule by using a string. Has anyone tried to do this in a workflow? Thanks.

Could you be more specific? If you are talking about using an advanced attribute flow in MA that is no problem. If you want to achieve this in a synchronization rule, I'm not sure if it is even possible. So far I'm trying to avoid the new synchronization rule approach. In my scenarios is much more simple to use an old way using MA attribute flow where I've got much more control.

We are using the FIM portal for master data, so the synchronization rule is a must. I have a target system where i need to export a multivalue field, with 2 values in. The values are not present on the user resource, but will be the same for all users. If it is a singlevalue string, you can just set the export to be a string. The problem is that there is no such functionality for multivalue fields.

Unfortunately you can't do this in the sync rule and handling multi-values in sync-rules is one of the main reasons I've added a feature request to Connect for being able to add custom sync rule functions even though the reason isn't expressed: https://connect.microsoft.com/site433/feedback/details/491513/feature-request-custom-sync-rule-functions http://idmcrisis.com/post/2009/09/20/The-need-for-custom-sync-rule-functions.aspx Your only choices for reaching your goal is to either add a your values manually or by workflow to your user resources or by using a legacy advanced outbound sync rule to the MA. //HenrikHenrik Nilsson, ILM/FIM MVP Blog: http://www.idmcrisis.com Company: Cortego (http://www.cortego.se)
