Copy and paste Workflow elements

So this questions is specific to copying e-mail content from workflow e-mail actions within a single workflow.  I have been able to reliably copy the content, but I am looking for a method of copying the "Lookup" data without having to manually do a new lookup every single time.  I have a workflow with about 20 e-mail messages and each message contains at least 10 lookups.  Most are the same with minor content adjustments.  WHY on GODS GREEN EARTH can't I copy lookup items from e-mail to e-mail?  Anyone know of a workaround?

This question has been asked in the forums before, but I am hoping for a fresh look.

Still no response or resolution on this unfortunately.  It appears the only option is to import the text, but you still have to manually add all the lookup items as well as formatting.  Really, really, really terrible design...  But there you have it.

I've got workflows like that as well - sending almost the same email with a little different content.

Drives me nuts as well.

One thing I did was rearrange my workflows so I only had one email sent. I configured the body to have the common information, then used variables to contain the differences. I also used variables for the To and CC fields. Logic in the workflow set the different variables accordingly. Doesn't help if you need to copy the email to a totally different workflow but makes it easier to maintain multiple emails.

One other way, but I haven't had much success with it, is in Designer go into 'All Files', 'Workflows', and then your email, and take a look at the .xoml file in notepad. If you can decipher that maybe you can copy/paste some of that info into another workflow.
