Copy Views from My Workplace to Monitoring
Hello, I am able to copy views from Monitoring to somewhere else but I could not copy views (Performance or Dashboards) from My Workplace to soemwhere else Monitoring for example. The views where defined in my workplace as done in emergency to trobleshoot an issue and also because the Management Pack where they were started to be built before was unsealed and does not allow the build to complete. How tio copy views from My Workplace to Monitoring? If I create a Dashboard in My WorkPlace the views are available under Favorites If I create a Dashboard in Monitoring the views are not available!!!! I have to assume that it is because anything you create in the my workspace area is not saved in the same way into a management pack like all things in the Monitoring pane. Is basically just opening properties of the views in my workspace and repeating the same thing in the monitoring pane to re-create them. Of course try to create them in a custom mp (unsealed) that you use for views. If you first create the normal separate views in the monitoring area and than create a dashboard in the same place and reference the views in the monitoring area you should see all the views.Bob Cornelissen - BICTT (My BICTT Blog) - Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Recipient

You can't. My Workplace is seperated from the monitoring tab. You can use monitoring views in the My Workplace view, but not the other way around. You should create them manually in the Monitoring.Regards, Marc Klaver http://jama00.wordpress.com/

Of course the copy option is also not available in right-click in the My Workspace area. It is more of a personal space. I do use it, but for views that only I use or for testing views. Mostly when somebody else can benifit from a view I create it in a custom mp for views for everybody to see.Bob Cornelissen - BICTT (My BICTT Blog) - Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Recipient
