There is no bit-ness stored in the SSIS package.

Hi Lukesh,

The below link  will help you for sure but before migrating please consider the below factors.

If the other components are in 32-bit, you need to install 32-bit only for better compatibility, even though the OS is 64-bit and vice versa. Else, not needed.

Advantage of 64-bit over 32-bit is that 64-bit releases can handle more amount of data than 32-bit due to the increased memory width.

HI All,

I am using Sql server 2012 and my Excel is currently 32  bit but  i want to run that package in 64 bit .

Is it possible to run that package in 64 bit ...

can we convert export to 32 bit to 64 bit or any setup we have to use for that?

SSIS use the ACE data provider to access MS Excel files. If you have MS Office installed as 32 bit version, then you have also installed ACE as 32 bit and the SSIS package must run in 32 bit mode.

If you want to run the package in 64 mode, then you have to uninstall Office completely and install ACE as 64 bit version; there is no other way around.
