I setup users to have contribute rights to our document library, but it looks like they also have delete rights. How can I limit their delete rights to only the documents that they upload?

I do this a lot, since I don't like my users to be able to delete, even though the Recycle Bin is very useful. What you need to do is create a custom permission level by going to the site where you want it, and doing this:1) Site Actions > Site Settings > Advanced Permissions > Settings > Permission Levels2) Click Edit Permissions Levels then click Ok3) Click on the Contribute permission level4) Scroll to the bottom and click Copy Permission Level5) Name it something like ContributeNoDelete6) In the List Permissions group, deselect Delete Items and Delete Versions7) Click Create8) Go assign this permission level to your users either individually or to the groups they reside withinMake absolutely certain that you do not modify the built-in Contribute permission level nor any other built-in one.
