Content distribution status summazrization

Hi,

In confmgr console, it is possible to run deployment summarization. Is there a way to force content distribution status summarization? There are no such option in context menu

There is no need for that. Distribution status messages are processed once they are received and the status is updated (without the need for summarization).

So, It seems that the distribution status is stucked,

How can I find the reason why the 3 GB package is still not received by DP?

Are you sure it is not a firewall that is blocking the data between the site server and DP? I generally find that a few firewalls will block anything larger than 2 GB by default.

No, there are no firewalls.

No, there are no firewalls.

Have you reviewed the logs files to see what errors you are getting?

Hi Garth,

Which log files and on which side should I inspect?

Here is a list of all of the CM12 Log files and their purposes.

Thanks Garth,

Logs say that sometimes distribution of some packets stops, and some packets are continuing to distribute. I'm supposing that the very slow link (1-4 MB) to some branch offices is the reason. I'm starting to try with prestaged packets.

Yes 1-4 MB link is small but I have seen smaller (265kb). They should all make it but it should just take a long time to get there.

You need to give us more details. What error are you getting? what type of day are things stopping at? Are only small packages making it to the other site? What is the biggest package size that is successful?

Hi Garth,

I cannot see any dependences from the size of package, from the time or somewhat else...

I've started to using prestaged content, this is more predictable.

resolved.

Have examined pkgxfermgr.log, found a lot of "account has no EXECUTE permissions" messages.

Therefore, SCCM cannot write messages about successfully processed content.

My DP was installed within SCCM client deployment account, which of course doesn't have this permission - not within SCCM server account.

I've reinstalled DP under SCCM server account and everything is ok.
