Content deployment suddenly failing with ERROR: Requested value 'PublishingPages' was not found

Content deployment has suddenly started failing on about half our sites with the message:

ERROR: Requested value 'PublishingPages' was not found.

The relevant section from the import report (on the destination site) is below. To my knowledge, there were no substantial or structural changes to the sites that are failing; they had been publishing properly for months. Very little to be found about this on Google/Bing. I have no idea where to go from here. I'm pretty facile with PowerShell in case there are any scripts I can run for troubleshooting purposes. Thanks.

Hi RykM,

Based on the message, the error occurred when import Pages library, there is few information about 'PublishingPages' on the internet.

Could you please check if there is more useful information for troubleshooting when you enable verbose level for ULS log.

Verbose logging and inspection of those logs didn't produce any further clues, however I'm working with Microsoft Premier Support to resolve the problem. If we resolve the problem, I'll update this post.

Thank you.
