Content approval is not working for comments/reply in community sites of SharePoint 2013

We are planning to use Community site provide a forum experience. I have enabled content approval (Require content approval for submitted items? under Versioning Settings)  to have moderation interface. It is working very well where in discussions are not visible to other users unless approved by moderator. However comments and likes are not visible even after approval of corresponding discussion item. 

It is showing 1 reply and 4 likes but All replies section is missing. 


Discussion is approved and i can see all replies with moderators login. looks like SharePoint only approves discussion items. It does not approves comments and likes associated with items. 

Please help me understand if i am missing something. I am able to replicate this on premises and office 365.

It should work. if not create   new community site and try

Hi,

Thanks for reply. It is also not working with brand new community site collection. Could you please try to replicate this? Following are the steps -

1- Create community site collection / community sub site. (Its not working in both the cases)

2- Enable require content approval settings on discussion list

3- log in with member and create discussion. 

4- log in with moderator and approve it. it will be visible to all other members 

5- log in with another member and post reply/like etc 

6- Verify if reply/likes are visible to other member
