Content Sources in SharePoint 2007
Hi, I have SharePoint 207 installed. Now my search administration has 3 content sources defined. Can please someone explain me how the content sources work? Do I really require multiple content sources or I can work with one content source and multiple scopes ? What is the difference betweent the way different content sources are defined i.e. SharePoint sites, Web Sites, Exchange Folders etc ? To give you some more idea, we do have 3 different URLs for our SharePoint web application. One for Intranet, other for internet and third one for extranet. As of now in SSP there are 3 different content sources for each one of them. Do we really require this? or if we define only one content source for default zone (intranet), then also all my SharePoint users (whether from intranet, internet or extranet) will be able to search content?
