Content Editor Web Part - limits?
Are there any limits on Content Editor Web Parts? I have 10 on a page, of relatively small size, although one of them has 2,500 words in it (rich text with colours, tables, hyperlinks etc). The page crashes on loading about 80% of the time, although when you remove the large content editor web part it never crashes. Are there any limits to be aware of / any way of debugging this kind of thing? I'm using ?contents=1 on the end of the URL to close the web part which seems to be causing the issue, although I'm sure why this would be causing such a problem.

Moderator Note: It shouldn't be necessary, but once again I was forced to delete a reply to a post in a pre-SP 2010 forum thread (this one) because the reply was only about SP 2010. Remember, people, that there are SP 2010 forums so you must assume that anyone posting here in a pre-SP 2010 forum is asking about a pre-SP 2010 product - typically WSS 3.0 or MOSS 2007. Telling how things would have worked if a poster has SP 2010 is not at all useful, so don't do it. SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links): http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters

Hi, There is no such hardcoded limitations and moreover 10 CEWP is very normal. However offcourse the contents it is showing does matter for the performance. To optimize it provide more details about the contents this content editor webpart is showingThanks, Rahul Rashu
