Content Deployment Job Creation - specific sites within a collection - cannot select sites

I have configured a content deployment path to deploy content from Authoring web application to a production web application.

Both web applications are in the same farm.

I am now trying to setup the deployment job.

I select the path that I have created, and then want to change the scope.

When I select '<label for="ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_scopeInputFormSection_partialScopeRadioButton">Specific sites within the site collection' option and then click on the Select Sites button, I get the following error:</label>

Access Required.

Sorry, this site hasn't been shared with you.

The account used in the Deployment path is a Farm Administrator and has been given access to each of the relevant site collections in each Web Application.

<label for="ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_scopeInputFormSection_partialScopeRadioButton"></label>

Hi,

According to your post, my understanding is that you got access denied error when you configure content deployment.

It seems that your logged in user needs to be able to read the IIS metabase when you select a web application.

You can add your farm administrator to the IIS_WPG local security group on the server.

For more information: http://soerennielsen.wordpress.com/2007/06/19/the-long-path-to-content-deployment/

You can also check the steps with the following article(although it is for SharePoint 2010).

There is a similar thread for your reference.

Hi Jason.

Thank you for the response.

I have checked that the farm administrator is part of the IIS_WPG and the WSS_WPG groups.

I have checked and followed each of the other posts, and I noticed that non of them select specific sites when creating the job.

If I leave the selection on the Entire Site, the job is created.

I checked the Temp folder permissions for the farm administrator account as well as making sure that the farm administrator has access to the system %tmp% folder.

I am wondering if anyone has actually tried to do a deployment of selected sites?

Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Grant.

Hi Grant,

Did you ever find a resolution to this, I am facing the same issue. Content deployment works for the complete site collection but I cannot select individual sites.

Cheers,

Simon
