Connection behavior between SSIS 2008 and Access 2000
Hello All, I have an SSIS package that takes data from an Access 2000 database and moves it to SQL 2008. My first problem is that I can not seem to run the package (from within BIDS) with the Access database open. I just recently updated to SQL 2008 and could do this in SQL 2005. Also it seems like if I run the package once and try to turn around and immediately run it again it fails with a lock on my SQL database. If I wait about 1 minute and try again it is fine. Is there some config setting I need to adjust? Any ideas are welcome. Regards, DatabaseOgre

This sounds like a bug in sql 2008. Try to document the problem as how it was working on sql2005 and how it fails on sql 2008, Be very specific and provides clear details as well as repro steps. Try to find a workaround, then submit a bug report to connect.microsoft.com then also try to open a MSDN professional or premium ticket for MS to fix the bug.

I have submitted a bug to MS thru the Connect website. I will update the thread once I have a response. DO

MS is still working on this problem. I have just supplied them the dtsx file and a run log. We will see what they come back with. I will update the post when I have an answer.

The problem has mysteriously vanished. My package now works the way it should. I have asked MS to close my bug ticket and will monitor the package for any further problems.
