I have moved the WSS_Content database from my old 32 bit server to my new 64 bit server and associated the web application (of which i named the same as the old app) to the database that i have moved. I have then changed the DNS path to point to the new server. I have stopped iis on the old server. I have then tried to browse to the site on the server but receive the Logon Box asking for username and password. When i browse from a workstation i receive an error stating that i do not have permission to view the directory or page. Both iis setting are the same, and the url has been placed into the Trusted site list. I have tried to Export and Import the Database, export works fine but i receive an error message on importing stating that "FatalError: Could not find WebTemplate PROJSING#75820 with LCID 1033." Can anyone possibly help me please. What am i missing? (apart from a brain!!) Great! i can now browse to the site from a workstation but unable to open the site on the server! i have added IP Address....http://site to the Hosts file but still unable to open the site.
