Confusion over attribute/sync-rule association
Can someone please explain how you create a attribute and new RCDC control that you can push out via a Sync Rule, as I thought I knew, but FIM is telling me my attribute doesn't exist, and others do that shouldn't. What I've done: Created the attribute "Territory" which is a reference. Created a binding for the new Territory attribute on the "City" object. Used the binding via a picker in the City RCDC. RCDC seems to work. Trying to use new attribute/binding in the appropriate sync-rule, i.e. push City.Territory out, but I can't as the attribute doesn't show in the list, and what's more, one that I removed does (parentRef). Are the attributes in the sync-rule, new-attribute drop-downs not the binding/attributes I'm creating? Examples of what I can see: No sign of Territory! And what is parentRef doing there? Is it provided by FIM and not a user attribute?

Objects created in the FIM Portal/Service, such as your City resource, are not transitioned into the FIM Sync Engine using Inbound Synchronization Rules - this is configured through the FIM Service MA in the FIM Synchronization Service Manager - I'd guess that you haven't selected the territory attribute in the FIM Service MA? ParentRef isn't included by default, does it need to be deselected in the FIM Service MA. Hope this helps.
