Configure site mailbox on SharePoint 2013 using Exchange online

We have SharePoint 2013 on premise and Office 365. I would like to configure Site mailbox in Sharepoint 2013 on-premise and use Exchange online. This is possible by Hybrid setup accdg to the related thread (sorry i cant insert the link since my acct is not yet verified). Nonetheless, whether it's true or not, I was thinking about the steps on how to exactly do it. I'm hoping with this new thread I could get my spot-on answer. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Mokhtar.

FYI, I already read those articles before. Those steps are for adding site mailbox on SharePoint online.

What I want to do is to create site mailbox on my SharePoint on premise environment (not SharePoint online) and connect it to Exchange online instead of Exchange onpremise. Im sorry but I couldnt explain it any clearer than this.

Hi EccoRM,

Did you ever find out if this is possible?  I have the same exact situation.  SharePoint on-premise, Exchange in O365.

Thanks

This isn't possible because you cannot create the S2S trust.
