Configure incoming e-mail settings - Error File Not Found?

Hello

I am trying to setup a test server for SharePoint 2010 and I have followed the MS instructions for deploying a single SharePoint 2010 server with SQL server. I have had no problems or errors during the setup; however now going through the recomended post installation task of configuring incoming email settings I am getting an error message.

I have added the SMTP service to the server, configured it in IIS then gone back to the SharePoint central administration page. When I click Configure incoming e-mail settings under System Settings I get the following error message.

Error File Not Found. Correlation ID: cc08f335-6762-4c70-a690-ecfd012ec3c2

I have no idea what is causing this so have no way to resolve it, any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks

I'm having the same issue.  It's a new installation and when I go to 'configure incoming email' I get an Error page that says 'File Not Found' but the Correlation ID is Correlation ID: 23734882-1b16-41eb-91d3-9b3b38729dc2

Could it be that the location of the drop folder is invalid?  I put something in there that might not exist, but now since I can't get back into that page how can I find out what it's looking for?

Hi Terradog,

Firstly, you can check the ULS log, which is located in Drive:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\LOGS folder. You can find the exact correlection ID from the log file.

For the similar issue, you can refer to the following post:

Because I had the same issue and didnt found a solution here.

Do the following test please:

1. Visit: sharepoint.internal.contoso.com:12345 and try to access the "Configure Incoming E-Mail Settings" if you got the error message "Error File Not Found" try:

2. Visit sharepoint:12345 and try to access the "Configure Incoming E-Mail Settings" (without internal.contoso.com)

If you CAN access the "Configure Incoming E-Mail Settings" without internal.contoso.com. Then perform the following:

1.) Visit sharepoint:12345

2.) System settings

3.) Configure alternate access mappings

4.) Add Internal URLs

5.) change "Access Mapping Collection" to "Central Administration"

6.) Add "http://sharepoint.internal.contoso.com:12345" to the field and keep the field to default

7.) press save

This solved the issue on our Sharepoint.
