Configuration Manager Client reconfigures on every boot
We have an issue where every single bootup on every single client we see event code 1035: Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Configuration Manager Client. Product Version: 4.00.6487.2000. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Reconfiguration success or error status: 0. Our Client Install Method is Client Push Installation and the ccmsetup.log file is not modified when this happens. I want to know if this is normal or if it is something that needs to be fixed. After each reboot we have about 100 clients that need to have a client repair done in order to download and install patches. I am hoping the two are related but I do not know. Thanks for any help or guidance you can provide!

I encountered that years ago. What we finally discovered after months of trying to figure out what was going on... was that someone had set a GPO to reset the permissions on %windir%, following some old/outdated "best security practices" document. Maybe it made sense 8 years ago when that gpo was setup, but doesn't anymore. So, what would happen is the GPO would change permissions on files in %windir%\system32\ccm, then the client couldn't start correctly which triggered the client to repair so that permissions would get reset correctly, then the GPO would re-permission everything again. Vicious cycle. Now, perhaps that's not what is happening for you. But that's what happened for me. It's at least worth looking to see if you have some well-meaning but misguided GPO; messing with %windir% permissions.Standardize. Simplify. Automate.

in our Win7-x86 fleet, we see this every day, all the time (in the Application event log), and for us it doesn't correlate to broken clients at all. We don't use client push very often at all. I suspect your broken clients are not directly related to this Informational-level event. I've always assumed it to be "normal, expected", and never bothered about it since it's not logging at Warning-level nor Error-level.
