Config Manager 2007 R2 Secondary Site Distribution Point FQDN modification????
Apparently someon setup a server in Spain to use an FQDNof servername-domain.net. As you can see, there should have been a . instead of a - in the FQDN. So, All packages, updates, etc are falling back to an unprotected DP here in the US. We want this to be available to clients, i understand I can prevent this from happening, but that will not fix the issue. So I want to modify the FQDN entered during setup. In the log you can see where the task sequence is erroring out bc it cannot connect to the share due to the invalid name: Failed to connect to "\\ServerName-Domain.net\SMSPKGC$\LOU00145" (53) Took me a bit to figure this out. Now I want to Change this without ripping everything off of the Distribution point. Is this possible? Someone ask Wally! :) Any info is appreciated! -ce

How would I do that? I looked in the managment console on the central server and didn't see where i could change it. I logged into the site system and i didn't see any option to launch any software...is this a regedit or something? -ce

In the ConfigMgr Console: Site Database -> Site Management -> <Primary Site Code - Primary Site Name> -> <Secondary Site Code - Secondary Site Name> ->Site Settings -> Site Systems -> <Site Server Name> Right-click ConfigMgr site system in the details pane and select Properties. Change the Intranet FQDN. Push OK.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

Oh wow, right under my nose. I think I went to the properties of everything else but that one! Thanks, sorry for making you spell it out for me. I suppose it is a good thing I have never had to change it before. Thanks again! -ce
