ConfigMgr SP2 Client Upgrade
Currently I am running SCCM 2007 SP1 R2. If I upgrade to SP2 will the clients need to be upgraded? If so, howdoes the client upgrade process work?

Yes, the clients have to be upgraded too. You can use software distribution, client push, whatever method you prefer. For example: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632690.aspx

So do you essentially need to upgrade all clients....going to all systems and hitting install client will work, or if you have client push enabled will it automatically update older clients?John Whites

or if you have client push enabled will it automatically update older clients? No, they won't be upgraded automatically (exception: you have automatic client push enabled and the clear install flag maintenance task).

"No, they won't be upgraded automatically (exception: you have automatic client push enabled and the clear install flag maintenance task)."Are we absolutely sure about that? That is the only red flag I have deal with about upgrading to SP2. I must be very sure that client updates are controlled and not random. Thank you.

We need to control the client upgrade process and not have it occur at random.Nick Moseley - SCCM Admin http://t3chn1ck.wordpress.com
