ConfigMgr RTM, SP1, SP2 standalone media vs ConfigMgr R3 pestage media
Hello everyone Just wondering with the difference is between the RTM to SP2 standalone media vs. the new R3 prestage media. My understanding is that you could always do an offline build with ConfigMgr RTM, SP1, SP2, and R2 anyway? Thanks i would be interested in your feedback AD

I have removed the previous "Comment" that was posted with the same question. The ability to pre-stage has been improved in each release, not that I have participated with this. My guess is that before it just used the offline media and now you have a true pre-stage image that can be applied by the manufacturer. The following actions are not supported for use with stand-alone media: Automatic application of device drivers from the driver catalog. Installing software updates. Installing software prior to an operating system deployment. Stand alone media: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632784.aspx I assume R3 has fixed much of this. I haven't played with R3, I have only seen the basic information that is out there. But I am sure it supports the device drivers and such. http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com
