ConfigMgr Administrator account

hello,

I have system system center configuration manager 2012 r2 installed on win 2008 R2. i did reset ConfigMrg administrator password in active directory then errors appeared in sccm monitoring - system status - site status :

critical  SMS_HIERARCHY_MANAGER

critical  SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER

And there is description for that errors. should i restart any sccm services or re-type the old password.

No errors was found before changing the password, and sccm working fine.

Regards,

What account are you talking about?

SCCM doesn't have a service account. If you are talking about a account you use to install roles on other server you will need to go in the account section of your SCCM and change the password to the new one.

Also providing the log from the system status would be helpful.

Examine mpcontrol.log and hman.log.
Those threads of sms_executive should run in system context. Just in case you changed that: that would be unsupported.

i tried to reset password from there but its only to add or create users. administration - site - client push installation - accounts . is this the right way.

my senior resigned and i have been asked to reset all password for all accounts he was managing. and he was the one installed, configured and managed sccm 2012 r2

if i reset any password does it affect sccm services or function.

No, as Frederick pointed out, ConfigMgr does not use or have any service accounts.

The account used to install ConfigMgr is "special" though in that it has a few rights/permissions that cannot easily be delegated/granted, so make sure you don't delete it.

Just look at all the account in the account section. SCCM tells you what they are assign to. So if you change the password just change it as well in SCCM.

For certain account like Network access account if you have task sequence media make sure you build them again if you change that password.
