I am running a Configuration Manager 2012 R2 Sp1 Primary Site, the SUP resides on this server. I created a Software Update Group, it has 5 patches in it. When I go to "Show Members" it is not returning results within 8 minutes...and counting...I will post again when I does finally show the 45 patches. Is anyone else seeing this or know of any Bug

What about the current load on the server? Is the 'rebuild indexes maintenance task running? Or - even better - is Ola Hallengren's re-index script running?

Agree with Torsten sounds like a possible index issue, I would start troubleshooting there.,. In the kit Ola Hallengren have created there are a script to check index status as well..

It turns out the issue is actually the VM is on a shared Disk cluster that is underperforming.
