Conditional formatting causes check-out dialog to show up twice

Hi,

when I activate conditional formatting for a standard document library in SP Server 2010 (with only SP1, i.e. version 14.0.6029.1000), SharePoint asks two time if I really want to check-out the document. Also the small notification in the top right is displayed twice. Accepting the second dialog results in an error message because the document was already checked-out after accepting the dialog the first time. This also apllies for "discard check-out" and "check-in" dialogs.

A newly created document library does not show this behavior. After applying conditional formatting (changes background color for the row if Name-column contains a substring) the described behavior can be observed. There is no custom code deployed to the web application which could be the source of the problem.
When I create a new list-view without conditional formatting, the behavior does not apply for this view. But deleting the formatting rule for the original view does not solve the problem (maybe SP Designer leaves some customizations within the XSLT part even after the formatting rule is deleted?).

After applying SP2 I could no longer observe this behavior alltogether.

What I would like to know is, if there exists a separate hotfix to solve this issuse (haven't found one yet, nor any other user which observed this issue) because the installation of SP2 would be a costly task for the production environment with many custom code solutions.
