Computer crashes after every update or security patch

Hi

We use SCCM at my company to deploy software, updates and patches.  Lately my machine crashes after every single security patch or update that is installed. Which means that my machine crashes up to 10 times a day on some days.

It doesn't give me any warning, I can see  via the software center that it is busy installing an update and then next moment the machine is off.

Any ideas where I can start looking?

Hi,

I would start in the event.log, and the sccm logs UpdatesDeployment.log

to determine which update it actually is that crashes your machine.. and then read up on the KB article for that update to start with.

Hi,

If you use Cmtrace it will highlight errors and warning for you so that would be a start. you can also have a look at this as well.

But they don't fail to install they crash your machine, right?

Is this happening to all PCs or maximum number of PC's  or just on 1 PC ? If max number of pcs,you can stop the deployment on the sccm and troubleshoot the logs on the client side whats happening.

For troublehsooting on client, have a look at the updatesdeployment.log and windowsupdate.log,wuahander.log for the patches that started installation or already installed from programs and features.
