Computer Discovery not returning results
I'm trying to figure out why only my SCCM Site Server and Database Server are showing up in the "All Systems" area. I setup a boundary of a specific IP address range, and inside of it I know for certain there are several machines. The only discovery method I'm attempting to use at the time is Network Discovery with the following settings: General - Type of discovery: Topology Subnets - nothing set Domains - nothing set SNMP - public SNMP Devices - nothing set DHCP - our on campus dhcp server Schedule - nothing set. Is maybe the Network Discovery and all or nothing setting? Where I need to fill in the other tabs I left blank? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi, Check the netdisc.log file on the site server and see if you can get some more information. Why not enable AD System Discovery? Also make sure the site server is member of the DHCP users group on the DHCP server (needed for read access to the DHCP server).Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

Everything I can find seems to indicate that DHCP is the only requirement for Network Discovery to work with any kind of regularity. if you have this added already (like your post seems to indicate), i'd verify basic connectivity to your dhcp server from your location. did you add the dhcp server to the dhcp tab using hostname or ip? i'd use hostname and see if it resolves the FQDN and IP address (testing DNS). can you telnet to your dhcp server on ports 67 and 68 from your sccm server? also, i've never configured network discovery before but see that there is not default schedule built in and i also notice that you don't have a schedule configured. with AD sync groups, you tell it when to see and can even specify a "Run discovery as soon as possible option". with yours not having a scheudle set, i'm not exactly sure when the network discover will run, if ever.
