Hello all, Using Moss 2007 I'm trying to modify a cqwp with one field as a test, the cqwp has a text column called hold, with no embedded spaces. I've followed http://www.heathersolomon.com/blog/articles/customitemstyle.aspx and the msdn article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb850574.aspx and yet nothing I do, allows me to see the added field. When I updload the webpart the added field does not show, if i then re-export the webpart, i can see that the field is listed in the CommonViewFields, as earlier mentioned, there are no embedded spaces. I've also tried to follow: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ecm/archive/2006/10/25/configuring-and-customizing-the-content-query-web-part.aspx however when he get's to Step 4: customize XSLT to render additional fields The Content Query web part utilizes XSLT to render its contents. This means that I can edit the way the web part renders content and configure exactly what is shown and how it's shown. If I edit the web part and look at the toolpane, I'll see a couple of drop-downs that relate to Styles. These correspond to the Header and ItemStyle XSLT files that are located in the site collection's Style Library, which is in the root site. I don't see how he's editing the webpart and I don't have toolpane, just Ok, Cancel, Apply. I'm the site Admin and have FULL PERMISSIONS. this is the line i've changed in my CQWP <property name="CommonViewFields" type="string">Hold, Text</property> Any guidance is appreciated. Art

Finally figured it out. For any novice like me, here's the trick. In Sharepoint, go to your CQWP and click edit, then select Presentation and click Styles, look at the Item Styles, the items listed here coorespond to the Items in the ItemStyle.xsl file. You'll want to look at this file with SPdesigner 2007. Check the file out and find the section you want to modify. Good luck. Art
