Comment missing on alert?
Hello, It seems the alert on "ConfigMgr 2007 service running: ..." is missing some details... I am receiving the message as: "ConfigMgr 2007 service running: SMS_EXECUTIVE" or "ConfigMgr 2007 service running: SMS_SITE_COMPONENT" but no more comments... like ConfigMgr 2007 service running:SMS_EXECUTIVE not running... or failing etc... any idea? is it by design? is it my configuration which is wrong? This should be on a Secondary or Site system in component Manager log. It should notify you if it see the Service mssing or not running. Generally when it starts up it does the check. If a machine has a problem, service corruption or even a Perfmon problem it can make the SMS_EXEC stop working or even dissapear.http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com

This is on the Primary Site, the Parent and Site System as well. The service is stopped effectively but why the alert does not show this in the description it just says "ConfigMgr 2007 service running:SMS_EXECUTIVE" nothing else !!!! this is really confusing ... The source is actually troubleshooted but why the laert did not mention the status of the service? At a loss to explain this, perhaps performance counters need to be re-registered? Is there any indication of issues in the Event Log? Clutching ... straws ...
