Command Notification Channel issues with parameters
Hi, Do you mean that you would configure command notification channel and pass the information with the executed command? If so, please refer to the following: Enable a command notification channel http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd440871.aspx Configure Command Notification in R2 http://contoso.se/blog/?p=860 Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Hi Nicholas, Thanks for your help and I am so sorry if you are unable to understand my problem. I am giving the details. See I have created a notification channel and linked it to a powershell script. But I want to send parameters to the script in form of $config<some parameters>$ but SCOM 2007 R2 cannot let me save this channel because it only accepts $Data/Context/DataItem/...$ In the script I want to connect to a server(via <aaaLogin>) and in this script I want to pass the url, userID and password of the particular server. I know it is stored in the SCOM but I cannot retrieve it. By doing this I want that when I set the resolution state of any alert to Acknowledge(I already created it with ID = 10), by somehow i get these three parameters(mentioned above) related to this server and i pass it as a parameter. Again I think I can use a cmdlet Get-RunAsAccount to retrieve the username but Can you suggest me the way to extract the password and the url(as they are provided when we create this account) by some mean? If you have another way to do so then please help me out. Every thing is stored in the configuration node of the MP but I am not able to extract this data. If there is way to develop an alternative script to extract these values, it will be much of a help. Regards Ravi

Hi, I want to pass configuration parameters as the parameters to the script mentioned in Notification channel criteria. Like username, server url and password. How can i achieve this?

If you want to run a script in a rule with a certain ID, you can set a Run As Account in the Rule properties of the Operations console UI. Have you tried using Run As credentials?Pete Zerger, MVP-OpsMgr and SCE | http://www.systemcentercentral.com
