Collection membership for new software

Hi,

I have a collection "new deployment" which we use for deploying software to new computers. The collection is based on a query looking for OU membership. The softwares are assigned as available and it shows up in the softwarecenter. It works fine.

However recently we experienced some problems with new imaged computers. Not all deployed software are appearing in the softwarecenter just some of it. I removed the deployment for these software and recreated it and then the softwares show up again. I'm not sure why it was necessary. I recently upgrade SCCM 2012 to R2. Any issue known with R2 and already deployed software to collections?

A second question to this I would assume when I move the computer to another OU it would lose membership of the collection and therefore remove the softwares shown in softwarecenter. Indeed in the collection the computer disappears,  but the software still shows as available in the softwarecenter of the computer. Which setting or policy would influence this? I'm also not sure which log to check.

Thanks,

Any chance that you are running into http://www.mssccmfaq.de/2013/03/15/fehlende-applications-im-software-center/ ?

Hi Torsten,

Maybe yes I installed the monitoring tool and connected to the client. I see a lot of entries with no name but GUID. Please see picture.

Do I click on such an entry the tool crashes. The entries with a name of the application won't crash the application. Do I need to worry and ask Microsoft for the VBS script?

Thanks,

Edy

Yes, I know this is an old post, but Im trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) as they can work with you to solve this problem.
