Clustered SCCM database problem
Hi, I have a strange problem with SCCM-SP1 on a SQL Cluster, named instance. After some troubles (spn registration, kerberos on SQL) i succeeded to configure SCCM to use the database on the cluster resource. Everything looked OK. In the SCCM console\Site System s i see now the following system s: \\RTM-SCCM-S01 that is the site server. \\RM-CLUST-SQL that holds the database role So far it was OK, but after some minutes and after restarting the SCCM console i see the 2 physical SQL nodes in the list of site system s: \\RTM-SCCM-S01 that is the Site Server. \\RM-CLUST-SQL site system \\RM-SCCM-SQL1 that holds the database role , component server \\RM-SCCM-SQL2 that holds the database role ,component server Is this normal behaviour? I expected that the cluster would hold the database role Anyone experienced this problem ?

I've never heard of an environment that has used clustered SQL servers to run SCCM... but I would say that if everything is working, then you shouldn't have a problem. Since SQL is clustered it would be updating the database no matter where it's updated. Scott GillSCCM Consultant

The database should defintely be located on \\RM-CLUST-SQL, not on the SQL instances!
