Clients unable to assign
After installing the KB977203 hotfix on the SCCM site server I'm still having an issue that I'm hoping you can assist me with. Not sure what changed as it was functioning fine before installing this patch. Symptoms: 1- SCCM 2007 client installed successfully in all clients machines. 2- Site Code is not recognized in all clients machines 3- you get the following error message when using discover button: "Automatic Site Code Discovery Was Unsuccessful" 4- Components appear as installed but not enabled 5- Under Actions, Just 2 actions appear. 6- On SCCM sever all clients have Client=NO status The "Location services" log shows: <![LOG[DhcpGetOriginalSubnetMask entry point not supported.]LOG]!><time="22:15:14.099+240" date="07-25-2011" component="LocationServices" context="" type="2" thread="1772" file="ccmiputil.cpp:169"> <![LOG[Current AD site of machine is OPS]LOG]!><time="22:15:14.099+240" date="07-25-2011" component="LocationServices" context="" type="1" thread="1772" file="lsad.cpp:457"> <![LOG[Retrieved SLP [<SCCM Server>] from Registry]LOG]!><time="22:15:14.224+240" date="07-25-2011" component="LocationServices" context="" type="1" thread="1772" file="lsad.cpp:2255"> <![LOG[Attempting to retrieve SLPs from AD]LOG]!><time="22:15:14.224+240" date="07-25-2011" component="LocationServices" context="" type="1" thread="1772" file="lsad.cpp:2261"> <![LOG[Retrieved SLPs from AD]LOG]!><time="22:15:14.240+240" date="07-25-2011" component="LocationServices" context="" type="1" thread="1772" file="lsad.cpp:2265"> <![LOG[Current AD site of machine is OPS]LOG]!><time="22:15:14.240+240" date="07-25-2011" component="LocationServices" context="" type="1" thread="1772" file="lsad.cpp:457"> <![LOG[[CCMHTTP] HTTP ERROR: URL=http://<SCCM Server>/sms_slp/slp.dll?site&ad=OPS&ip=10.110.124.0&ir=10.110.124.153, Port=80, Protocol=http, SSLOptions=0, Code=0, Text=CCM_E_BAD_HTTP_STATUS_CODE]LOG]!><time="22:15:14.287+240" date="07-25-2011" component="LocationServices" context="" type="1" thread="1772" file="ccmhttperror.cpp:264"> <![LOG[Raising event: instance of CCM_CcmHttp_Status { DateTime = "20110726021514.302000+000"; HostName = "<SCCM Server>"; HRESULT = "0x8004027e"; ProcessID = 544; StatusCode = 500; ThreadID = 1772; }; ]LOG]!><time="22:15:14.302+240" date="07-25-2011" component="LocationServices" context="" type="1" thread="1772" file="event.cpp:525"> <![LOG[Failed to submit event to the Status Agent. 977203 doesn't change any server side functionality, so its installation is coincidental. From the above, there is something wrong with your SLP: "HTTP ERROR: URL=http://<SCCM Server>/sms_slp/slp.dll?site&sc=444, Port=80, Protocol=http, SSLOptions=0, Code=0" and maybe IIS on the system hosting the SLP. Have you reviewed the status messages and errors for you site? Have you reviewed the IIS health for this server? Have you reviewed the Windows event logs for this server?
