Clients have site code of Seconday Site?
Hi, I have inherited an SCCM environment of 1 Primary Site (HQ1) 6 secondary Sites Approx 700 clients From what I can tell clients are assigned the site code of the Primary Site and cannot be assigned the site code of the secondary site even though they are within it's boundary. Confusing, but fair enough...! Now I have approx 20 - 100 PC's in each geographic Secondary site. 90% of them have HQ1 as their site code. Some are showing the Secondary Site code which they reside in. I have seen elsewhere that this is expected behaviour if the PC was 'discovered' by the SCCM server within a Secondary Site but did not have a client installed yet. Once the client is installed it will revery the site code to the Primary Site (HQ1). Problem is these records showing the Secondary Site code are also showing that the client is installed. I have tried doing a reinstall of the client (forcing reinstall) but it still shows the Secondary Site code. Any ideas? They will show the site code of the secondary site until they get policies. Easy thing to do is check the actions tab of the confguration manager icon in the control panel of one of the machines. If all the actions are not present it hasn't gotten policies. Next thing to do is figure out why it hasn't gotten policies. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

John is rigth, you need to make sure the assignment process didn't fail. Check the clientidstartupmanager.log and clientlocation.log files on the client.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund
