Client site assignment and DP assignment

We have One primary site and 3 secondary sites which are geographically at different locations.

Majority of the workstations are showing as managed by the site code of Primary site.

I requirement is that a machine should show as managed by the MP and DP which are in its same geographic location and IP subnet. They should get the content from DP in its location and not go to a different DP in some other location.

How can I get a report of the preferred DP for machines in a location?

Is there a report/way to find out the machines which have accessed the IBCM server while they were on Internet?

Pls help

DPs are not assigned to clients. They will be determined dynamically based on the client's location (IP / AD site) and boundary/group configuration. That's not reported back to the site server.

Yes  Configure Boundary/group  as well like Torsten Said.

Additionally, there is no built-in way to report on which DP is being used by clients -- you can check individual clients and you can check the DP itself (the IIS log specifically), but there's no consolidated feature to get an overview of which clients are using which DPs. 2012 R2 will include this capability however.

Dear Jason,

Where can I check on individual clients to find the DP that they are using?

Where can I check on DP itself to find the clients that they are connecting to it for content?

Is there a report/way to find out the machines which have accessed the IBCM server while they were on Internet?

As mentioned, clients aren't assigned to DPs. You can however check CAS.log to see which DP a client is using.

On the DP, as mentioned, you can check the IIS log.

IIS log is also the only real source of which client has connected to Internet facing site systems.
