I have updated a ConfigMgr 2012 R2 to SP1 and then CU1.

After the upgrade we experience that clients that are reinstalled Dows not register correctly.

In the client actions it is not all the actions that are there. Normally there should be 9-11 actions but here we see that there are only two, tree, five or so.. But not the 9-11 actions a normal function client would have.

In CU1 the fix for KB3073015 should be included, but it seems like it is not working.

If I install a new PC og upgrade a ConfigMgr 2007 client to 2012 R2 SP1 CU1 I have not seen any registration problems.

I have looked in the ddm.log and I cannot find the error message mentioned in the KB article so it does not seem to be the exact same problem.

There can me many reasons why a client that was repaired doesn't register correctly. I assume it was repaired because it had a problem to begin with.

Sometimes I found problems with the clients wmi policy. I have used Policy Spy to kill all the policy and redownload and it starts to work.

Sometimes, I have had to delete the machine from the console and perform a Data Discovery on it.

I am not repairing the client but simply updating it to 2012 R2 SP1 CU1.

What's the error in ClientIDManagerStartup.log on the client?

Also examine MP_ClientRegistration.log on the MP.
