Client machine missing from the Admin Console
Hi! Hopefully this is the right forum :-). We have just started to deploy Windows 7 with SCCM 2007 R2. The machine installs OK, but the client doesn't get any programs (with app-v). Looking into that problem it looks like the machine is actually missing from the admin console! I can't find it under "all systems" or anywhere else either. My question is, where do I start looking? Which one of the one million log-file is the correct one to check? I guess it should be something on the client machine to check?

Wondering if this affect all the machines. If so then it could be the MP not working correctly or maybe even WebDav. Are all the other clients receiving adv correctly and working as they should?http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com

Check below steps one by one - 1. Windows firewall on client PC 2. do the wbemtest from command prompt on server for client 3. Check site boundary configured properly for the location where client problem have 5. Check location service.log on client PC 6. delete certificate from client PC using below steps - a. Stop SMS agent hot service using command -net stop ccmexec b. copy the ccmdelcert.exe file from SMS Tool kit to local drive of client PC c. run command - ccmdelcert.exe d. once you get the successful deletion run the command - net start ccmexec hope this will solve your problem. Thanks a lot for all for all the good suggestions. It's a public holiday today, so I'll look into it tomorrow. BTW. This is on another domain with it's own DP. The OSD work like a charm though, and the machine joins the domain in it's os deployment-task.

Hi, can you rpovide the information about SCCM infrastructure in your environment along with some configuration as below - 1. Boundary configuration i.e. based on IP subnet or AD site or IP range 2. Domain covered under SCCM 3. Relationship between covered domains. 4. Covering Single AD forest or multiple AD forest. 5. IIS version installed on SCCM servers. 6. OSD image package information with task sequence. Also provide the log information in more details - ccmsetup.log clientlocation.log locationservice.log ClientIDmanagerstartup.log. it will help to find out the root cause.Rakesh Kumar

We went for the WINS-solution. Then the agent installs itself correctly. The problem was that the client didn't find it's management point.
