Client does not show up in the All Systems collections after OSD finishes
Hi! I'm at the end of my rope. I think I've tried everything but still this darn thing won't work. My problem is that after the task finishes the client doesn't show up in the collection All Systems like my other clients do. Those few times it did show up it said that there was no client installed and that the client was no approved. Trying to reinstall the client didn't change anything. Since my setup works on other models from Dell I'm suspecting that there must be something I'm missing on my E5520 My goal: Install Windows 7 Pro SP1 x86 on Dell Latitude E5520 Setup: Restart Computer in WinPE Format and partition disk Apply OS from wim-image (tried one image built on VM and one image built on the actual model (E5520) Apply Windows settings Apply Network settings Apply Latitude E5520 driver pack (cab imported with Dell Client CAB Package) Setup Windows and ConfigMGR Various software I'm using the exact same setup on my Dell Latitude E5500 (except for the driver package which in this task is E5500) and it works like a charm. What am I doing wrong in my E5520 task? I'm also having trouble installing Dell Feature Pack on E5520. Dell Latitude E5520 has the new Intel Sandy Bridge chipset (Intel 6 series) Could that cause the problems I'm experiencing?Any pointers here anybody? Thanks, Tommy Tommy

The SMSTS.log doesn't really matter at this point, assuming the ConfigMgr client has been installed, and is functioning properly. On the site server, you might want to check if you have any collection evaluation errors for the All Systems collection. Look at your colleval.log file on the primary site server, and also look at the site status node in the ConfigMgr console for any errors, especially on the collection evaluator. Also, manually update the collection membership, wait a little bit, and then refresh the view. Remember that updating the collection membership doesn't necessarily refresh the view in the console -- it's a bit annoying like that, but you just have to work with it. Hope this helps -- cheers. If this post was helpful, please click the little "Vote as Helpful" button :) Trevor Sullivan http://trevorsullivan.net
