are you running SCCM 2007 sp1 ? if so read this - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;959812&sd=rss&spid=12769 and upgrade to SCCM 2007 sp2 My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

verify that your configmgr client version is the correct version (r3) and that you are using the same client version on the client you are attempting to capture data from cheers niall My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

Is there a way, outside of the task sequence/Windows PE environment, I can run the command to check for the SMP? This would at least speed up troubleshooting. I tried "osdsmpclient.exe" /restore but it requires the TS environment.

Hello, I have an issue with my USMT sequence where clients cannot access the State Migration Point. Hardlinks are working ok. The USMT share exists, and I opened up NTFS permissions on it to Everyone. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the SMP in SCCM at least twice. The smp logs do not indicate anything untoward; it sets itself up OK and passes the periodic checks. Is it possible this is an IIS configuration issue? How would I check that? Has anyone seen this error before? Thoughts? The relevant portion of the smsts.log is here: ==============================[ OSDSMPClient.exe ]============================== OSDSMPClient 1/28/2011 4:44:50 PM 2496 (0x09C0) Command line: "osdsmpclient.exe" /restore OSDSMPClient 1/28/2011 4:44:50 PM 2496 (0x09C0) MigrationID not found in Environment. Resolved this...I think the issue was that Handler Mappings in IIS were not configured for the SMSSMP directory...Also made sure that all necessary accounts (IUSR) etc had full control to the SMP share. On your SCCM/SMP box, go to http://localhost:80/smssmp and see if that works...if you can't open that, then something is wrong.
