Client Registration

Hi All,

I have a site having single SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 Primary site, in this site the active directory system discovery was set to domain level before, because of which it was discovering all the machines in the domain, which created issue in patching as many of these machines were test machines which were powered off all the time.

Most of the machines were having SCCM client & there status was active in the sccm console. We then removed the Domain from Active directory system discovery & deleted few of the machines. Now the machines are getting registered automatically & when we check the property of the machines it says MP_Registration. We haven't run ADSD yet.

Will after adding new OU & and then running the Active directory system discovery, create double entry for the machines.

Please suggest.

Thanks,

Pranay.

SCCM client registration happens when SCCM client is installed on the system or "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\SMS\Certificates" registry key is deleted & SCCM client service is started after that.

running AD system discovery should not create duplicate entry. however there were few scenarios in older version which created duplicate entry:

No it won't. Did these systems have a client agent on them already?
