Client Push per site
I was wondering if there's a way in SCCM 2007 to enable the client push install to only select sites or subnets? We have a few remote sites that don't require SCCM clients installed and would like to exclude these, however still have the systems
in SCCM for reporting purposes.

Use
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693996.aspx (which might not be appropriate) or use another installation method that can be done more granualar (WSUS, GPO)Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Have a look at the below thread...it talks about similar query

You can exclude the remote site workstation OU from Discovery and enable client push.
You can use some other installation methods login scrips or GPO.

Those few remote sites, don't they have a unique IPrange or IPsbunet? Just don't include the boundaries for the locations and make sure you AD system discovery do not query the OU's of the site.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

Kent: If I don't include them in the boundaries their machines will not show up in SCCM and I wouldn't be able to run reports against them (Unless I'm not understanding how this works). Yes they are in a different subnet.
I thought about using GPO to do this however we'd like to keep our deployment centralized and eliminate having to use too may seperate pieces of software to perform the same function. It is an option to consider though.
Excluding them from the registry would work except this is a fairly large site and entering each of the Netbios names would be very time consuming, especially as new machines are added.
We're looking at getting rid of our logon script by using GP Preferences so not sure this would work for us either.
Seems our best option is to use GPO to push clients? Thanks again for all the prompt replies!

Hi,
Discovery has nothing to do with boundaries. You may see the information in the following thread:
Leave
some computers out of SCCM

What would be the difference between "Enable Client Push Installation to assigned resources" vs "Enable Client Push Installation to site systems"?

If you select Cliet push installation to the site system then the client will get installed on the SCCM site systems.
Assigned resources means the client machines assigned to that site.
