Client Push Fails to install

I have been trying to Install the Client via the Push method.  On the machine that is targeted, I see ConfigMgr Task Sequence Agent and Configuration Manager Remote Control in Services but are disabled, and under services in Task Manager there is a ccmsetup that is listed at Stopped.

Here is what I see from the ccm.log when I try the push:

Aha it's SCCM 2007.

Check your webdav settings, it should look like this: Configure Webdav

This is SCCM 2012.

I saw an article about WebDav and tried it to no avail, but the link you gave me had additional settings that I just tried.  Added the additional setting, but get the same results.

July 5th, 2012 5:27pm

The client is getting an HTTP Error 401, which essentially an "access denied."

The client has to be joined to the domain, or you need to provide a 'network access account' for your site.

Unfortunately, both are done but I believe the issue is deeper within the GPO as I am going thru that now.

Still getting the same error when trying to deply the client.  Here is the full ccmsetup log file:

I keep getting a 401 error (permissions).  I remove the domain admin from the account and reran the client push but then nothing happens.  WebDav is configured correctly, the site is using SSL which according to documentation is setup correctly, not sure what to look for next.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Can ANYONE answer this?
July 10th, 2012 9:57pm

It's probably to do with the default client installation properties and the availability (or lack thereof) of a client certificate which CM can use.

Is your CM12 hierarchy set up to use HTTPS/PKI?

The same error when pushing SCCM 2012 client to XP or W2k3. Works fine with Win2k8! Digging around.

Hi

I know this thread is almost one year old.

However I bump into this with SCCM 2012.

I believe that the answer to this problem is:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2682514

http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2012/03/05/kb-iis-application-folder-sms-dp-smspkg-anonymous-authentication-settings-periodically-reset-to-disabled.aspx

It solved my problem.

Hope to help someone with this strange and odd problem.
