From the System Event Log...thenThe Removal of the assigment of application CCM - SMS Client Setup Bootstarp from policy MITS Servers Software failed. The error was : %%2thenFailed to apply changes to software installtion settings. The Installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next logon bacause the changes must be applied before the user logon. The error was: %%1274I even tried to push from the server buit I don't see anything happening...If I install locally it works but it is painful for 500 servers!!!Thanks,DomSystem Center Operations Manager 2007 / System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 Support

The Installation of software deployed through Group Policy So I assume that it's a matter of a group policy (GPO) and not client push ...

After you do a client push you can monitor the status in the CCM.LOG on the server. Before you do the client push, make sure your machines are discovered and assigned to the site and that you have a client push account designated. Also make sure firewall is either turned off on the client or that the correct ports are open:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632618.aspx-Karl M

that you have a client push account designated. Technically you do not need a client push account. I always put all of my servers into an AD group and add that group into local admins via restricted groups. That's just one less service account that you need to maintain. Whatever you decide to do please do not use a domain admin account, that's overkill and bad security practice. It is part of a Group with all service accounts and server accounts and it is local admin on all serversBut still not working with the push...Which port is used from Server to Client for the push... is it also 135 or 443 and a Telnet run in a command prompt on the server to the client should work, isn't it?I tested From Server TELNET Client 135From Client: TELNET Server 443From the server to the client: (Right-Click Tool...)Ping Client OKConnect C$ OkRunning Processes OKThanks,Dom System Center Operations Manager 2007 / System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 Support

For client push to work you have to have the random high ports for RPC open between the client and server. If you don't you see will WMI connections error in ccm.logJohn Marcum | http://www.TrueSec.com/en/Training.htm | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum

I do not see any trace of the machines ... in the CCM.LOGI tried again with the following...I right click on the machine(s) and Click Install Client > Next > Include domain Controllers unchecked/Include only clients in this site's boundaries unchecked/Always Install(repair or upgrade existing client) checked >Next > Finishnow it works it seems to be a boundary issue not sure why I have to check again...The boundary was added 4 hours ago is it enough? but I pushed with boundaries unchecked and it works...!!! it is an IP subnet 10.2.24.0 System Center Operations Manager 2007 / System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 Support
