I saw that in a post on here, tried it and it didn't fix the problem. I also tried this but hasn't worked... http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa389286.aspx. However I haven't done the Connection 2 part. I may try that. Need to find another machine. I disabled the firewall on this one and it worked. So I know it's fw related

Yes I've been though the firewall settings... and the last time I deployed this I had to make exceptions for the firewall and had no issues. I tried to apply this documentation, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa389286.aspx, which is the only good documentation I've found for WMI. There is no option like, File and Print Sharing, on the firewall for these XP machines. I'm about to put a sniffer on this XP machine to see what's going over the network. If you know another way to open WMI I would appreciate the advice.
