Does a person still need to do this or does it automatically apply patch during OSD now?

Client Patching During OSD - Still needed after 2012 R2 SP1

During OSD you can still use the PATCH parameter. If you don't need, or want, that you can wait it out. It will happen automatically after the deployment is finished. For more information, please refer to:
