Client / Remote Tools Settings Not Refreshing On Many Workstations
Hello All! I was recently given the task of coming up with a good remote desktop solution of our internal tech support. I used the rc.exe command to create a small installable program for host workstations which seemed to work very well. With Remote Tools, there are a few options that you can set. There are desktop notifications, system tray notifications, security, etc. In the beginning, I did not have it set to ask the user's permission to view, but a week later changed that to where it must ask permission. The big issue is that I found a few random workstations at remote sites that still don't require permission to connect via Remote Tools. I've refreshed their client settings (Initiate Action on all list items), but still nogo. I haven't had an opportunuity to try yet, but don't know if other fucntions are hampered too. The only big recent changes are that I recently introduced Secondary Sites to each of my 3 remote sites instead of just having server roles remotely. I created a sender address to and from each of these secondary sites to my main server too. I know that the causes can be pretty board with this issue, but still thought I may get a clue or two. Any ideas? Thanks!Ben K.

You can use Roger Zander's Client Center tool to completely reset the policy the on the systems in question. There maybe be other options in his tool also (don't have it in front of me right now) that mey be able to help also.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys
