Clean up after Sync Rule Deletion??
Client had Sync Rule created that applied to approximately 75 accounts. Sync rule was then deleted from FIM Portal. Each ERE for this Sync Rule was also deleted from FIM Portal. Upon import / sync within sync service, client receives "unexpected-error". Details indicate "The operation failed because the object cannot be found." How do you clean this up? Looking at the error futher, it appears that there is an attempt to delete a SynchronizationRuleID from the ERE, but the ERE is not there. In searching the metaverse, the ERE in question is not there. In searching the FIM Portal CS and CD, the ERE is not there. Thinking out loud...why, on a Full Import from the FIM Portal, is there an attempt made to delete the SynchronizationRuleID from a non-existent ERE? What is triggering this to happend?

Isn't it more that the object's Expected Rules List (ERL) still points to an ERE that doesn't exist anymore? You can clean an ERL up by using a script. The FIM ScriptBox has lots of examples for how to do this. Cheers, MarkusMarkus Vilcinskas, Knowledge Engineer, Microsoft Corporation
