Clean install a specific edition Home/Professional edition with the DVD - Windows 10 (Multiple Editions) (x64) - DVD (English)?

I am currently using:-

  • A desktop with Windows 8.1 Pro Retail x64 - upgradable to Windows 10 Pro
  • A laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 (HP OEM) - upgradable to Windows 10 Home

Question:-

I have upgraded the Win7 machine to Win10 and successfully activated. I am yet to upgrade the 8.1 machine. I plan to clean install Windows 10 on both the machines after upgrading. But the problem is, one is to be upgraded to Home, while the other to the Pro edition.

If I have the ISO for "<label class="description" id="description2">Windows 10 (Multiple Editions) (x64) - DVD (English)</label>" from MSDN, how can I clean install on both the machines, Home on one and Pro on another with the same DVD. The instructions for a clean installation after an upgrade says that you have to skip entering the Product Key during setup.

Is there a way using the multiple-editio

It will install the version which is currently installed and activated on the machine. I have done this for both Home and Pro by skipping the product key using the media creation tool version of Windows 10 (which supports both Home and Pro). I would expect the MSDN multiple edition version to do the same.

IMO that will only happen when you logon and install. But what about the case when I boot from the media, format all partitions and clean-install Window10. I think in that case, it wont check for the existing version. It wil be same as installing it over a Windows XP or a Windows 3.1 or even a Linux.

The only thing that could have let the setup know the intended version is the product key, which in my case should not be en
