Clean Up of DiscItemAgents
Hi
I have noticed that the DiscItemAgents table at our root level site contains some very old data, data which no longer exists at the child site which it originated from. Are there any maintenance routines (or other methods) to clean this table out?

Hi,
I wouldn't modify/delete any of these entries my self (it's not supported to modify the database). The disocvery information from the database should be deleted after 90 days by the default Delete Aged discovery data site maintenance task.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products

My experience is that the Delete Aged discovery data site maintenance task isn't touching this table, can you confirm that it definitely should be?

As far as I know each discovery method is referred to as a discovery agent - the DiscItemAgents table keeps track of all discovery agents in operation and the last time the particular discovery agent discovered a particular item. The agent info field of
the discovery record directly relates to the DiscItemAgents table.
So I think (I'm not sure) you should use Delete inactive agent discovery data or Delete obselete agent discovery data maintenance task or both ... and as already Kent said it's strongly not recommanded to modify/delete any of these entries itself
(it's not supported to modify the database).

Hi Bechir
Thanks for the reply. I have both Delete Inactive Client Discovery Data and Delete Aged Client Discovery Data switched on, but they don't seem to affect that table.

Yes I know this is an old post, just cleaning up old post.
It will touch that table when the PC is deleted but it will NOT clean out old entries
until the PC is deleted.
