Hi,

I would to allow selection of several option in document so I have added choice column which allow multiple selection in a document library.

My issue is very much similar to the below forum. As proposed answered an user has mentioned that after having installing SP1 this issue is resolved and able to select choices which are more than 255 character.

Im using SharePoint server 2013 enterprise SP1 and still not able to select all options. I am getting The field can have no more than 255 characters Can anyone please help me?

Hi DJ- this is by design. Did you see the answer about using a lookup column instead to avoid the limit? That's your best option. Otherwise, see this link for another workaround:
