Checking Metaverse Attribute Use
Hi, I'm looking over an existing ILM solution that will be upgraded to FIM and during the upgrade they're looking to clean up their metaverse a little bit. The existing Management agents have been through a few iterations, so there are some attributes in the metaverse that aren't being used anymore for whatever reason. Is there a simple way to have something spit out which attributes in the metaverse are not being used in any flow rules or joins. I'm three quarters through doing it for this time, exporting out the metaverse and MA's, using the MIIS2003 resource toolkit to get them in a nice format then pasting into excel and using formulas to highlight attributes in the mv not in the flows. It's fairly time-consuming, though. Just wondering if any one else has found a solution to this that would be quicker.

A much quicker way to do this to look in the metaverse designer, select the object type you want to look at, then in the attribute list in the lower pane there is a column called Import Flow. If this is zero, nothing is being flowed to that attribute.
