Check in Option for Documents in Windows Explorer
Is there an option or feature that can be added to programatically check in files into SharePoint when uploaded via the Windows Explorer view? We have some clients that are not used to using SharePoint and would like to continue using their Explorer View to interact with documents. The issue is when uploading the document, the file is not checked in making it difficult for other users to open or make any modification to the uploaded document. Thank you in advance.

Hi Yes , you can automate the checkin process by using a tool like datafacet that indexes the ducument on upload asssigns terms to the document dependent on rules you have setup and can then place the terms in columns you have mapped. You can also have defaults in place that are used when uploading a doc. But if youhave required columns without defaults or without being fillind in then the document is not officially checkedin and remains ina semi checkout state... -IvanIvan Sanders My LinkedIn Profile, My Blog, @iasanders.
